About The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones are an English band that rose to prominence during the British Invasion of the 1960s. They are one of the longest running most successful acts in show business, still recording and tourings. They have sold 240 million albums worldwide. Starting with "Satisfaction" in 1965, The Stones became regular chart toppers until the early Eighties. They also routinely gross more than any other touring act the years they tour.
Like most early British rock groups, they were influenced by a variety of American musical forms, especially Rythym and Blues and early rock 'n' roll. From their first album "The Rolling Stones", the Stones fashioned a trademark hard rocking sound based on R ' B and Rock 'n Roll. Their cover of Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" leaned heavily on I IV chording that would later dominate on cuts such as "Street Fighting Man" and "Brown Sugar. The Stones rebellious image stood in contrast to the clean-cut image The Beatles nurtured.
